As a Graphic Designer for the Advertising and Promotions Department at Penguin Random House, my primary responsibility was designing cohesive book wraps for advanced reader copies (ARCs or Galleys).
One of the main restrictions I faced in this process was the use of rights-protected cover art, which couldn’t be used in another context. To create a cohesive spine and back cover design, I utilized my knowledge of digital illustration, hand drawing, texture creation, painting, and image manipulation to create unique designs that seamlessly transitioned to the cover art.
After designing each book, I utilized the same crafted elements for digital and print promotions, including banner advertisements, bookmarks, postcards, as well as content for the authors, which were featured across social media platforms and HTML e-cards.
