Project Role: Lead Designer

Client Objective: To redesign and develop Spark, a medical website under the Allergan Aesthetics brand. The goal was to create an appealing and informative platform that caters to the medical aesthetic community, particularly those interested in switching careers. The project required a comprehensive, end-to-end product design and development approach.

Conclusion: The end product was a success, surpassing all client objectives and defining Sparks new brand identity. The transformation resulted in a visually appealing, content-rich platform that effectively caters to individuals seeking to switch careers to medical aesthetics. The revamped website’s design and content strategy attracted new users, while keeping existing ones engaged, leading to increased leads and conversions. After briefing with the client, my foremost objective was to delve deeper into comprehending the target audience. Conducting initial research brought to light the pivotal role that user interface plays in the decision-making process of individuals seeking aesthetic treatments.

Recognizing this, I resolved to adopt a human-centric approach, placing the needs and preferences of our nurses at the forefront. Given that many of these professionals are transitioning from traditional healthcare settings to the realm of medical aesthetics, it became apparent that the design of our platform needed to unite the doctor’s office and a medical aesthetics spa.

This realization prompted the development of a comprehensive content strategy that revolved around showcasing real-life examples of successful career transitions within the field. By featuring relatable stories of both men and women who had successfully made the switch, we aimed to alleviate any anxieties or intimidation associated with the transition process.

Additionally, we recognized the importance of breaking down information into easily digestible content blocks, employing clean and friendly typography, enhancing search engine optimization (SEO) and call-to-action (CTA) elements, and creating a visually appealing layout that allowed for the seamless organization of the vast array of articles within each section.

The subsequent phase of our design process centered around refining the user interface. Our key priorities included prioritizing clear and concise content blocks, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing typography that conveyed a sense of professionalism and friendliness, optimizing SEO and CTA elements to improve user engagement, and establishing a visually spacious environment to accommodate the substantial amount of articles available in each section. To achieve a sophisticated and medically-oriented aesthetic, I meticulously incorporated design elements that reflected the high standards associated with the medical aesthetics industry, instilling trust and confidence among our target audience of nurse injectors.
